Designing a collection does not always follow the same path.

Designing a collection does not always follow the same path.

Sometimes, an idea appears almost instantly. Other times, it takes time—even years—and a great deal of patience. Finding the next theme to explore is a profound process of observation, reflection, and discovery.

At Câpâ, I understand design as a language born from thought and from the connection with the hands, which are my tool to bring ideas to life. Each collection emerges from carefully observing my surroundings: from contemplating a landscape, discovering something new, or following a theme that interests me. I like to think of concepts that invite us to reflect on the present and to look at the world from a different perspective, so that I can rediscover it in my own way.

Over the years, I have explored ideas such as vortices, bifurcations, the flight of birds, habitats, the topography of hills and mountain ranges, the shape and colors of flowers. I am inspired by the curved, rugged, and rustic forms of nature, but also by the concepts they conceal: how paths connect, how territories transform, how life evolves.

When I find a theme I want to develop, I begin to research, to learn more, to sketch, to think. I fully immerse myself in that idea. I search for images, words, landscapes. I carry out small investigations, read what is available, watch documentaries, browse books on art, science, or literature. Anything that helps me better understand what I want to express through design.

It is not just about finding beautiful shapes. It is about looking at the world in my own way, about building a personal kind of nature, about translating a thought into an object.

Each collection is the result of that journey: a blend of intuition, observation, and study. And although I never know exactly where each process will take me, I enjoy it… and the result is always genuine.
