Paths of Corn is inspired by Colombia’s pre-Columbian cultures and their profound connection to the land, community, and the natural cycles that shaped everyday life.For this collection, Câpâ looks to the symbolic worlds of the Muisca, Tayrona, Quimbaya, and other Indigenous cultures of present-day Colombia. Their stories, rituals, and ways of understanding the world become the starting point for a new visual language.
Throughout the collection, recurring symbols emerge: the human face, a reflection of identity and memory; corn, the seed that nourished entire civilizations and shaped collective life; the house, both shelter and community; the mountains, silent guardians of the territory; and the sun—known as Sué to the Muisca people—a sacred force that guided the cycles of life, planting, and ceremony.
Paths of Corn is also a tribute to craftsmanship. To the extraordinary goldsmithing traditions through which these communities transformed gold into symbols of meaning, devotion, and exchange. Whether through lost-wax casting or metalwork techniques, their artistry reflected a deep understanding of both material and spirit. The collection draws inspiration from a land of remarkable abundance: rivers, mountains, emeralds, gold, salt, cacao, cotton, and corn. Natural resources that Indigenous communities learned to honor, interpret, and transform into culture, knowledge, and beauty.
Each piece is a fragment of that journey—a way of carrying a story that came before us and deserves to be remembered with care, beauty, and respect.
Through Paths of Corn, Câpâ invites us to reconnect with the histories that shaped our identity and to tell those stories in our own way.
As part of this collection, Câpâ will donate 5% of net sales to Akubadaura, an Indigenous women-led organization that advocates for the rights of ethnic communities in Colombia. Funds will support Raíces que Tejen Vida (“Roots That Weave Life”), a program that strengthens economic autonomy and preserves ancestral knowledge among indigenous artisans women in the regions of Chocó and Guaviare.
